Fort Frances Writers Group. Meets the second Wednesday of each month, except July & August, at 6:30 p.m. at the Fort Frances Museum. Prose, poetry, memoir, children's stories, sci fi, romance, historical fiction... our writers simply love to write. New members welcome!
The Rainy River District Festival of the Performing Arts
Celebrating 70 years in 2010- this two-week long event showcases the a wide range of talent (vocal, instrumental, drama, etc.) within the District. Adjudicated as a “Modified Workshop” Festival, categories include competitive and non-competitive. The Adjudicator, after hearing the performance, will give an oral adjudication after which he or she will offer practical help in interpretation and performance.

Kids and Company
Introducing children and their families in the Fort Frances / Rainy River district to a wide spectrum of diverse entertainment to both foster an appreciation of the arts and to enhance the quality of life within our Northern community through unique and creative music, dance and drama. Seasonal Passes and a limited number of tickets are available at the door.
Border Concert Series
These concerts held in neighbouring International Falls, MN, offer great entertainment to local residents. There are usually 6 to 8 concerts per year, that run through the fall and winter months.

Cornell Farms Barn Concerts
Cornell Farms is a fifth generation farm located in Northwestern Ontario along the Ontario/Minnesota border.In 2003, Kim restored Cornell Farms heritage barn that his great-grandfather build in 1915. The barn is a well-known landmark in the Rainy River District. It is a working barn from September to June - used as hay storage in the Winter and for calving cows in the Spring. In the Summer it is used for Barn Concerts and Events.
